When it comes to Spanish bars, at Porta we are definitely more Madrid than Magaluf.
Think of those late, late nights spent drinking huge balloon glasses of gin and tonic in tiny independent bars in Barcelona, Madrid or Granada. Now you can do it right here in Salford.
No gimmicks, just great food and drinks in a relaxed atmosphere.
It isn’t an exhaustive menu but we have exhausted ourselves making sure that everything is made with carefully-sourced ingredients, by us, and our drinks selection offers good value and great quality. Small is beautiful.
There are no reservations because this is not a fancy restaurant, it’s a neighbourhood bar that just happens to serve brilliant unpretentious food. We want you to feel like you can call in whenever for drinks and a few olives or keep ordering tapas dishes long into the night.
From Spanish beers and wines, to vermouth and Basque cider, from home-made croquetas to pickled guindilla chillies, Porta is Chapel Street’s answer to Spain’s coolest bars. And there’s not a straw donkey in sight.
Open every day from midday. Last food orders at 10.30pm.
