At Lily’s we’re renowned for the quality and authenticity of our vegetarian and vegan curries.
We’re delighted that customers have taken our samosas, our bhel puri and our aloo palak to their hearts.
But it’s strange because we actually started out as a sweet shop and our Mum, Lily made all traditional Indian sweets that we sell now.
Our restaurant bears her name and we still use her recipes today to make our rich traditional sweets.
So if you think Lily’s is all about the best chana paneer you’ve ever had, remember paneer is also a traditional part of puddings all over the sub-continent.
It’s certainly a key part of the classic Indian sweets rasmalai and rasgulla. Rasgulla are little dumplings of paneer soaked in syrup until the sweetness permeates everything whilst rasmalai are small paneer cakes flavoured with cardamom and served in sweetened milk.
We also serve delicious traditional vegan sweets such as beetroot halwa and a selection of desserts made with Cashew and Pistachio nuts which are just as satisfying and a selection of vegan ice creams.
So at Lily’s although you might come for the curries, make sure you stay for the sweets.
Enjoy our sweet treats in our restaurant in Ashton and also to take away. They will also be available from our new Chorlton deli which is opening very soon.
