With over 25,000 products and exclusive new technology, is the new beauty hall a game changer?

Selfridges Trafford announced it was to majorly expand its existing beauty hall over three phases back in May this year. 170 brands, 25,000 products, close to 3000 shades of lipsticks and 1500 shades of foundations later and it’s now a whopping high-tech, ultra modern beauty megastore.

Doubling in size, the beauty hall now spans over 20,000 square foot, positioning it as the leading beauty destination outside London based on its size, product offer and services.

Having made room for 80 new cosmetic lines such as the first Anastasia Beverly Hills counter in the UK, Huda, Hourglass, By Terry, Lime Crime, Natasha Denona and Le Labo, Selfridges Trafford claims to be unrivalled by any other beauty hall in the country.

They’ve introduced smart new technology to lure in the city’s legion of beauty enthusiasts and professional makeup influencers.

Most of the counters now include phone mounts, charging points and ring lights so you can record your own makeup tutorials. Armani will even email the 'before and after' video back to you.

Selfridges Trafford has also installed mirrors with considerate ‘day and night settings’ to make sure you choose the correct shade of foundation.

...you can make your own truly unique lipstick in 30 minutes with Estee Lauder.

Then there’s the new hands on experiences; you can make your own truly unique lipstick in 30 minutes with Estee Lauder, as well as digitally match yourself to brand’s current lipstick collection (think along the lines of Snapchat filters). Plus, cult cosmetic line By Terry has a shiny new counter/lab where you can custom make your own eyeshadow and makeup palettes.

With so much more to choose from, Selfridges Trafford has called in a new team of glamorous ‘Beauty Insiders’ who, like personal shoppers, you can hire to recommend products, set up make up tutorials and much more. Like your favourite Youtubers they have a wealth of knowledge on all brands in store. Find them at an Instagrammable counter in the centre of the department store.

More space also means room for more niche brands including a dedicated Korean ‘beauty sheet’ mask collection and Youtube famous brands such as Zoeva. There’s also a 'Face Gym', Blink eyebrow stall and a large dedicated area for popular fragrances.

Phew.

Vicki Cain, General Manager at Selfridges Trafford, commented: “Our beauty hall has become the go to destination in the North West for beauty fans. The expansion will create a unique and unrivalled beauty offer, where established names sit next to the most experimental brands and exciting innovative newcomers.”

The brand new Selfridges Beauty Hall is now open.
