Explore Catalan specialities

Manchester Food and Drink Festival is always a great chance to try new things and 2018 promises to be no exception.

One of the hot tickets at this year’s event is undoubtedly the wine and cheese tasting at Tast.

This isn’t about discovering new Spanish delicacies; the emphasis is firmly on Catalan provenance so you just might find some heretofore untasted gems, no matter how much you love Spanish cuisine.

The event takes place in Enxaneta, the private top floor space at Tast on King Street where Tast’s advanced sommelier will guide guests through a selection of three carefully curated Catalan wines paired with three stunning cheeses from the region.

These will be served with pa de pàges amb tomàquet, a traditional Catalan bread with tomato. This particular recipe has been developed by multi-Michelin star-awarded executive chef Paco Pérez in conjunction with Triticum, an artisan bakery in Barelona.

The wine and cheese tasting takes place on Sunday 7 October at 12pm. Tickets cost £30 per person.
