No expense spared for this new late-night cabaret venue

Name a famous burlesque star. Ok, but can you name another? Bet you can’t, because the ‘queen of burlesque’ Dita Von Teese is virtually a household name around the world. That’s why it’s such a massive coup for Manchester’s new late-night cabaret venue, Whiskey Down, to have managed to get her to perform at their exclusive launch party on Saturday 27 July.

The space is aimed at both men and women seeking a night of intrigue, secrecy and sexuality as an art form

Burlesque dancer, model, costume designer, entrepreneur, singer, and actress, Von Teese will be performing her most intimate show in years to celebrate the grand premiere of Manchester’s new ‘superluxe playground’ on Lloyd Street. Only 100 limited edition tickets have been released, with private tables and luxury booths available to hire.

As well as the performance – at which she might be performing from her signature giant Martini glass - guests will be treated to a signing and photo opportunity with Dita herself.

Whiskey Down, which opens to the public on 20 July, is a new self-titled ‘super luxe playground’ with a first floor cabaret stage featuring opulent leather booths, dark woods, floor-to-ceiling bookcases and a world-class selection of whiskey and gins.

Guests can access the club via a door next to Red's True BBQ. Both venues are now owned by Tokyo Industries; a nightclub, bar and restaurant operator with 36 sites across the UK (including Impossible on Peter Street.)

Whiskey Down has taken influence from venues such as The Box in London and New York, Crazy Horse and Moulin Rouge in Paris. The space is aimed at both men and women seeking a night of intrigue, secrecy and sexuality as an art form.

Managing Director Aaron Mellor said: "Dita by definition the world’s biggest name in burlesque: her shows are legendary experiences and always visual, fashionable and super glamorous. We are really pleased she is able to join us for our Manchester opening."
