The most depraved breakfast item in the city

WE fully embrace seasonal eating at Confidential. Asparagus in May. Oysters in September. Creme Eggs in January. And in recent years, Black Milk's Easter Feast in the three weeks leading up to Easter Sunday.

The cereal and desserts cafe dreamt up this egg-shaped chocolate overdose just before they opened back in 2015 – and promptly ran out of eggs it was so popular.

The press attention led to a lot of copycat Easter Feasts, but if you want the real thing, you need to head to Black Milk on Oldham Street.

You start off thinking, I'll only eat a bit, then low and behold, there's just one lonely Mini Egg left rolling around the table.

Ask for an 'Easter Treat' and you'll be served a Dairy Milk Easter egg piled high with Kellogg's Coco Pop Rocks, Kellogg's Krave, Cadbury Mini Eggs, Cadbury Creme Egg, brownie pieces and melted milk chocolate – with a bottle of chocolate milk to pour on top.

The Easter Feast was a precursor to Black Milk's signature dish – the 'Cereal Cocktail'. This is a milk chocolate or white chocolate bowl filled with cereals (the not-very-healthy kind), whipped cream, ice cream and sauces.

You can get these all year round but the Easter Feast is limited time, limited edition (and it frequently sells out). By all accounts, it's delicious. You start off thinking, I'll only eat a bit, then low and behold, there's just one lonely Mini Egg left rolling around the table.

If you want to try it – and put those chocolate cravings to bed once and for all – get down there now. It costs £7.50 and is available until 1 April.
