HELP others less fortunate feel good through music at the fourth annual GEA Nordoff Robbins Charity Art Ball from The Good Estate Agency, which this year takes place at The Lowry Hotel on Friday 16 November, 6pm to 1am.

One of the biggest charity balls held in Manchester, the event attracts art collectors, business people and guests from the world of art, music, sport and TV, and every year features a stunning display of art. For 2018, the main exhibition area of the five-star Lowry Hotel will play host to 20 of the North’s leading fine artists, including Chris Acheson, Michael John Ashcroft, Richard Clare, Ben Kelly, Janet Kenyon, Janet Mayled, Anthony McCarthy, Cathy Read, Matthew Thompson and Hugh Winterbottom, with many more names to be announced as the date gets closer. A charity auction featuring some of the stunning artwork and a raffle with some fantastic prizes on offer will be among the money-raising highlights of the evening.

Nordoff Robbins is the largest independent music therapy charity in the UK, dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable and isolated people by providing life-changing music therapy services. Music therapy can be useful in a number of ways, for example, helping a child with autism to communicate, unlocking forgotten memories for a person living with dementia, or providing comfort for someone facing a terminal illness. In 2017, Nordoff Robbins reached more people in more places than ever before, working with 7,916 vulnerable and isolated people and delivering nearly 30,000 music therapy sessions in 151 different partnership settings across the UK. To date, The Good Estate Agency has raised £32,750 for this wonderful charity, which equates to 655 music therapy lessons to those with life-limiting illnesses, physical disabilities or emotional challenges. And that’s where the GEA Nordoff Robbins Charity Art Ball comes in.

Hosted this year by Radio 6 Music Presenter Chris Hawkins and Mad About Manchester’s Nik Maguire, the evening will showcase the live musical talents of the 50-piece Greater Manchester Rock Choir, the striking eight-piece band Beat Syndicate and the fantastic Alexander Stewart, back for the fourth year running.

Sponsored by Raymond Weil, the event will also give you the chance to check out the latest Aston Martin cars, including the stunning new DB11 and DBS, on a display by Stratstone Wilmslow, and try your hand in the casino by Manchester 235. There will also be a photo booth so you can keep a record of your evening, and, of course, great food and drink in beautiful surroundings.
