'Supercharged' version of the old pub game is coming to Manchester, following successful openings in London and Chicago

London-based 'social darts' bar Flight Club has announced that it's new Manchester venue is to launch this October, in the old Burger & Lobster site on Brown Street, following the restaurant's closure earlier this year.

Confidential first got wind of the opening back in March, but now bosses have been in touch to offer more details and this snazzy CGI (see below).

The venue, one of their biggest yet and their first UK site outside London, will have a capacity of 360, a central feature bar and fourteen oches (darts playing areas) - each with their own seating area offering table service. There'll also be a private room for birthdays, Christmas dos, team builders and so on.

Flight Club call their version of the traditional pub game 'supercharged', involving up to twelve players at a time, dart tracking technology (developed, they say, by their own astrophysicist - sure), an instant scoring system (meaning no boring maf) and a 'slick user interface'.

We've been keen to become a part of the innovative Manchester nightlife scene since the beginning

CEO, Steve Moore, who co-founded Flight Club alongside Paul Barham, said: “We’re on a mission to get the whole country playing Social Darts. We've been keen to become a part of the innovative Manchester nightlife scene since the beginning, and King Street will be our first location in the UK outside London.”

“Manchester is renowned for its outstanding heritage, unique culture, vibrant social life, and of course, competitive spirit so bringing a Flight Club to the city is a natural step for us, and we’re buzzing to be a part of the community.”

“We will be working with the people of Manchester to make sure that there is a little bit of the Manchester personality in our new venue and can’t wait to show everyone around.”

Bookings in London currently cost between £15 (off peak) and £30 per 90 minutes, which is a shite sight more than a game will cost you down the Dog & Knackers, but split between mates is only about the cost of a pint. And there's no maf, remember?

Flight Club have just started taking bookings for the October launch here.
