Sunday wouldn’t be Sunday without a roast, and Gusto’s is gorgeous… sirloin of beef and a red wine jus

TAKE the stress out of Sunday and let Gusto do the hard work. Who wants to be slaving over a hot stove in this weather then arguing about the washing-up? Not us, so thankfully we’ve found the perfect excuse to avoid any such nonsense: a brand-new set Sunday lunch menu at your favourite Italian.

Available all day Sunday, why not book a table this weekend and catch up with friends and family, or pop in and refuel after you’ve hit the shops… You can choose from a starter and main or a main and dessert for just £16.95, or the full three courses at £19.95 – see how you get on!

The chicken liver pâté is really smooth and has plenty of artisan bread and a generous dollop of red onion and cranberry chutney, and equally filling is the bruschetta with smoked haddock, leek and a soft poached egg. But nothing can beat the vibrant colour of the seasonal pea and mint soup with lemon crème fraîche and focaccia – it’s summer in a bowl.

There’s plenty of choice for mains, including vegetarian cannelloni, pan-roasted sea bass fillets, rustic chicken stew and the Gusto classic: pork saltimbocca. But Sunday wouldn’t be Sunday without a roast, and Gusto’s is gorgeous. Their sirloin of beef comes with roast potatoes, of course, and glazed baby carrots sprinkled with fresh herbs and a red wine jus. Beautifully presented, it tastes as good as it looks.

If you still have space, we can recommend the banoffee pie with its lovely crispy base, but you might prefer a lighter option: the dark chocolate mousse with an orange Chantilly cream could fit the bill, or the raspberry and almond frangipane. Pretend it’s one of your five a day…
