The award-winning Italian will reopen in September with 50% off food

POPULAR Italian restaurant Don Giovanni will reopen on Monday 10 September, after a kitchen fire forced its temporary closure in mid-August.

Nobody was hurt in the incident but the damage was severe enough to cause it to close for four weeks while repairs were carried out.

To welcome customers back, Don Giovanni is offering 50% off the a la carte menu from 10 to 30 September when you book a table in advance.

With a 33-year history, Don Giovanni is Manchester's longest-running, independent Italian restaurant. It has stayed fresh and relevant across four decades with regular updates to its chic interior and menu.

Nowadays, it specialises in stone-baked pizza, josper-oven steaks, and fresh fish dishes. Home-made desserts and classic Italian cocktails are another big draw.

The restaurant has just announced it will take part in Action Against Hunger's 'Love Food, Give Food' campaign to help tackle world hunger. Don Giovanni will join the hundreds of restaurants that add a voluntary £1 donation on every table bill. The money helps fund Action Against Hunger's life-saving work around the globe.
