Brace yourselves for four hour tasting sessions and the chance to make your own bottle

A two-day gin festival is coming to the city on Friday 28th and Saturday 29th September, courtesy of Manchester Food and Drink Festival and the Gin Lounge.

Upper Campfield Market - the Grade II listed former Victorian market hall on Liverpool Road - will be filled to the brim with over a dozen top gin brands, transforming it into an extraordinary Mancunian Kingdom of Gin (or ‘gin-dom’.)

They will be able to taste their way around all of the gins on offer direct from some of the best gin brands

Visitors will be given their own personal tasting glass, with which they will be able to taste their way around all of the gins on offer direct from some of the best gin brands in the world. This will be a rare chance to talk to the exhibitors and explore the different gin styles, flavours and production methods face to face. Any favourite gins sampled will be available to buy by the bottle from the festival shop.

Gins and mixers galore

Festival-goers can learn directly from the experts at ‘meet the maker’ events, hosted by master distillers Desmond Payne MBE (Beefeater) and Charles Maxwell (Thames Distillery).

Ticket holders can also pick up some professional cocktail mixing tips during mixology masterclasses, or for those who prefer to leave the mixing to the professionals, there’ll be a range of special gin cocktails served at the on-site cocktail bar.
