The Lowry Hotel is the place to go when you really want to treat someone

Valentine’s Day menus are everywhere. We mean, everywhere. But sometimes you want to really make it count and the five-course menu at The River Restaurant is the ultimate in Valentine’s Day indulgence.

It’s priced at £55 per person and it’s available on both Friday 14 February and Saturday 15 February. When you reserve a table, you know it’s going to be a special evening.

Start with the zing of a mackerel ceviche accompanied with white radish, fennel and sweetcorn or kick off with the full flavours of Iberico pork rump with sour apple and sorrel. Whatever you choose, every dish is one to remember.

Get ready for the main event with a pink champagne sorbet. This is a meal to linger over and savour.

Main courses include: roast halibut with morels, wild garlic, salmon roe and artichoke velouté; Black bomber pithivier with vintage cheddar, roasted squash, walnut, chicory and pear; prime cut sirloin of beef with oxtail ragout, burnt celeriac, baby gem and truffle jus.

2020 02 05 The Lowry Red Cocktail

It wouldn’t be Valentine’s Day without a bit of passion and at The River Restaurant you can round off your meal with passion fruit cheesecake or a refreshing Lowry gin – made from lemon mousse, tonic gel and cucumber ice – before sharing a cheeseboard.

Those inventive cocktail wizards at The Lowry Hotel have also designed a special cocktail to celebrate the occasion: Amour Éternel. Eternal love seems rather appropriate for Valentine’s Day but you can also enjoy any of your favourite cocktails in The Lowry Lounge from classics like Mojitos and Negronis to The Lowry’s signature concoctions such as Soul Vibration and This Is The One.

There are a limited number of places available so if you want to make Valentine’s Day really sparkle this year, you know what to do.

Go on, treat someone special (and treat yourself too).
