Even something as simple as bread and butter can be a real pleasure when done just right.
At Bread and Butter on Hope Street, that's what we're aiming for: unfussy and without pretension, and with all the elements that make going out for a meal or a drink really enjoyable.
In the day, you’ll find a relaxed coffee shop serving seasonal home-made soup, sandwiches, cakes and smoothies.
In the evening, Bread and Butter is a bar and restaurant where you can meet for everything from a few drinks to nibbles to a three-course meal.
Our menu reflects our love of French home-cooking, with classic comfort food such as boeuf bourguignon, moules marinière, and steak frites, with vegetarian, vegan and GF dishes too.
Expect a calm and relaxing atmosphere, warm and personable service, and music that's not too loud for conversation.
Downstairs you'll find one of the few craft beer bars in the neighbourhood, serving some of Liverpool's finest ales (Handyman, Neptune, and Top Rope), with an equally fine selection of alt-indie-rock on the stereo. And it's not just beer at the bar – we make some fantastic classic cocktails and have our own home-made gin and vodka infusions.
