Where else for a special treat?

The Art School is probably Liverpool’s finest fine dining restaurant. Think halibut with brown shrimp risotto and notes of aniseed rather than a chippy tea. It’s not somewhere you might go all the time (although we all would if we could) but if you’re looking to spoil the lady in your life ie. Mum, it’s a great way to indulge together.

Of course, the number one present all mums want is to see their beloved offspring so make a date with yours and spend some quality time together hanging out over lunch at The Art School.

This special menu to celebrate mothers everywhere is simply exquisite – as much of a treat for you as for your mum. Say thank you with a glass of sparkling Castorani Aienera, Mrs Kirkham’s Lancashire cheese scones and a selection of award-winning charcuterie and olives.

The luxury continues with an amuse bouche of poached duck egg, smoked salmon and caviar. Starters include options such as slow-cooked Wagyu beef tongue or wild garlic, spinach and cheese soufflé whilst Mum can choose from mains like hay-roast rump of lamb with black pudding, puy lentils and confit shoulder or black cod in miso with hispi cabbage, shiitake mushrooms and spider crab.

What’s a celebration without pudding? The desserts do the occasion justice with a selection that encompasses apple tarte tatin with crème anglaise and blackberries, new season Yorkshire rhubarb with blood orange sorbet and damson pannacotta with chocolate sable and coconut ice cream.

The Mother’s Day Menu at The Art School costs £49 per person. There are two sittings on Sunday 22 March: midday – 2.15pm and 3.30pm – 5.15pm. You can also round off the meal with coffee, petits fours and chat in The Art School Cellars afterwards.

If the person treating their Mum to a Mother’s Day Lunch at The Art School is twelve years old or under, firstly, well done to them for having such impeccable taste, secondly, they can eat from the junior gourmet menu for £20.
