The Botanist wants to pay someone £250 to eat Yorkshire puds... no really

When I was young, I thought the best job in the world was the presenter of Gazzetta Football Italia. Sit about, drinking cocktails and talk about the Serie A game you’ve just been to? Yeah, ok then.

Well, move over, James Richardson. There’s a new – albeit more fleeting – best job in the world on the market.

How do you fancy being paid £250 to eat Yorkshire pudding?

Yeah, you heard us. Australian outsourcing specialists Airtasker are celebrating their opening in Leeds by teaming up with The Botanist in the Trinity Centre to list the job of a lifetime for any true Yorkshireperson.

The Botanist in the Trinity Centre needs a Yorkshire Pudding taster

One absurdly lucky glutton will be invited to attend the Botanist to try a range of Yorkshire puddings made by head chef Sebastian. The deal is simple: you give feedback, they pay you a cool £250 and you go home about 2kg heavier. Everyone’s a winner.

Except there can only be one winner. And to be in with a shout of becoming the Botanist’s Chief Yorkshire Pudding Tester, you need to get over to the job posting here, click “make an offer” and write the story of your most memorable roast. You’ll need to get creative – this one’s going to be insanely popular for obvious reasons. The story that makes the team at the Botanist laugh – or cry – the most, will win the yorkies.

Airtasker is an outsourcing platform that connects people and businesses for outsourced, freelance and contract work. This isn’t your faceless international business though – Airtasker are more focused on local jobs like deliveries, cleaning and dog walking. They aren’t afraid to get quirky either – fancy getting paid to queue for tickets on someone else’s behalf? Or perhaps get paid to eat Yorkshire puddings? You get the idea. Good luck and happy writing.
